Titan Comics’ New ‘Cowboy Bebop’ Miniseries Sends Spike and Gang After Lucky Vest

For a jazzy and spirited season, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the classic ’90s Japanese anime “Cowboy Bebop“hit the small screen in November with John Cho (Spike Spiegel), Daniella Pineda (Faye Valentine), Mustafa Shakir (Jet Black), Elena Satine (Julia) and Alex Hassell (Vicious).

The high-profile TV series chronicled the misadventures of three ultra-cool bounty hunters bouncing around the cosmos in 2171 aboard their iconic Bebop spacecraft.

Sadly, on December 9, the streaming giant decided to end a potential second season for its platform due to production costs and poor reviews despite over 74 million viewer hours in the premiere. week of release.

But fans and aficionados of the cult anime and the canceled Netflix show now have much to celebrate in the form of the upcoming London-based Titan Comics ‘Cowboy Bebop’ comic book series, which lands on the 19th. January, and we’ve got a sneak peek in the first issue to share. Titan’s paperback “Cowboy Bebop” bringing together the new series will be released on July 26th.

Written by Dan Watters (“Lucifer”, “Wolfenstein”) of DC Comics and accompanied by artwork by Lamar Mathurin (“Gumbo”), this highly anticipated limited series will be aligned with the old live-action offering of Netflix and will present a whole new story also takes place in 2171. The dynamic plot unfolds with the entire Bebop gang looking for a former gang member who has in his possession a Mythic Vest that grants a chance unlimited to the wearer.

In addition to the new four-issue comic book series, Titan Publishing will also be releasing “Cowboy Bebop: A Syndicate Story: Red Planet Requiem,” a prequel novel set in the series universe, and “Cowboy Bebop: Making the Netflix Series, ”a revealing companion art book that serves as an insider’s guide to the retro-cool sci-fi show. Both titles are expected to arrive later in 2022.

Titan Comics’ “Cowboy Bebop # 1” hits comic book stores and online retailers on January 19 with a host of special cover variations from Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, Claudia Ianniciello, Afu Chan, Yishan Li and Yoshi Yoshitani .
