One of the most big names in horror right now is Mike Flanagan. With several movies like Gerald’s game and silencehe’s the mind behind shows like The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass (which is in the top 20 miniseries on Letterboxd). This 2018 show is one of the most watchable miniseries in history.

Viewers have spent countless hours watching it to find the hidden ghosts peppered throughout the episodes. The story of a fractured family’s experiences in a haunted house chilled audiences everywhere and created a perfect frenzy with jaw-dropping cliffhangers and episodes.

7/10 Over the Garden Wall (2014)

There’s only one anime miniseries to rank in the top 10 and it’s totally different from all the rest. For starters, aside from the anime aspect, it’s the oldest show to rank this high and it’s also the shortest, at less than two hours despite being 10 episodes long.

Over the garden wall follows two brothers on a return trip through a forest where they encounter several fantastical creatures and elements. With voice acting by Elijah Wood, Tim Curry, Melanie Lynskey and more, it’s easy to see why he was popular. Plus, it makes for a quick frenzy.

6/10 Hawkeye (2021)

By the time Hawk Eye rolled at the end of 2021, the mcu had established itself as a place to go for the dynamite miniseries. However, given the end of the Infinity Saga and the multiverse aspects of Loki, Spider-Man: No Coming Homeand even Wanda Visionit was time for something with smaller stakes.

Hawk Eye worked wonderfully in this regard, telling a street-level story set during the holiday season. These aspects combined with the delicious chemistry between Hailee Steinfeld and Florence Pugh as Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova made the show a hit among the airiest watches in the MCU.

5/10 The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)

An MCU series for not having the highest of stakes was The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, even if it dealt with a serious subject. Sam Wilson struggled to come to terms with whether or not he should be Captain America as a black man in the United States.

It was a highlight of the show, as was the story of Bucky Barnes’ time in Wakanda. That said, criticism has been leveled for the show’s inconsistent writing and lackluster conclusion, though it worked to set the tone for the future of the main characters appearing in Captain America: New World Order and Love at first sight.

4/10 Moon Knight (2022)

For the most part, MCU projects should connect to each other and be a big part of the larger franchise. For example, do not look Wanda Vision probably means you won’t grab everything in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, moon knight was different.

So far, he has no notable connection to the rest of the MCU. This works in his favor in terms of popularity for many casual fans. They can check out this story of a vigilante with dissociative identity disorder without worrying about having to watch anything else. In addition to that, Oscar Isaac gives a remarkable performance in the lead.

3/10 Chernobyl (2019)

As easy as it is to consume light stories, people everywhere seem to gravitate towards heavy drama. That’s probably why serial killer shows are so popular, and it’s one of the main reasons why HBO Chernobyl was such a success.

The miniseries deals with the 1986 nuclear power plant disaster in the Soviet Union and the cleanup efforts that followed. Chernobyl has been crowned with accolades, winning Outstanding Limited Series among the 19 Emmy Awards it has been nominated for, as well as multiple Golden Globes.
