Temuera Morrison joins Jason Momoa in ‘Chief Of War’ limited series on Apple TV+ – Deadline


Temuera Morrison has joined the cast of war chief, Apple TV+ limited series starring, written and produced by Jason Momoa. He hails from Fifth Season and Chernin Entertainment.

Created by Momoa and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, the eight episode War chief follows the epic and unprecedented tale of Hawaii’s unification and settlement from an indigenous perspective.

Morrison will play King Kahekili, the King of Maui.

The role reunites Morrison and Momoa, who worked together on the Aquaman movies. Morrison played Tom Curry, father of Momoa’s titular superhero, in the 2018 film. Morrison is reprising the role in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdomas good as the flashboth slated for release in 2023. On the TV side, Morrison portrayed Boba Fett in the second season of Disney+ The Mandalorian and currently portrays the character in a spin-off series The Boba Fett Book. Morrison is replaced by Gabriella Rice at JR Talent Group, Toni Benson at Thirdhill Entertainment, Gabriella Larkin-Bruce at Robert Bruce Agency and attorney Joe Weiner.

Momoa and Sibbett are producing with Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Erik Holmberg and Doug Jung who also serves as showrunner. Justin Chon directs the first two episodes and also serves as executive producer.
