Stephen King named the best limited series he’s seen in 2022, and it’s streaming now


Stephen King watched a lot of great TV shows in 2022. He kicked off the year in January by sharing his love for the freshman series yellow jackets; He called Breakup the “coolest and craziest” show of spring; he doubled shiny girls as being “exactly what streaming is for”; and just a few weeks ago, he praised the work done on Black bird. That’s a lot of praise for a lot of great projects – but now he’s offered what is arguably his highest complement for a 2022 original, as he’s named it. Five days at the memorial as the best limited series he’s seen this year.

Five days at the memorial premiered on Apple TV+ in mid-August, and with the finale airing last Friday, Stephen King was quick to deliver a thrilling superlative to it. The author has taken Twitter count the night the final episode hit the streaming service, and he directly explained that it’s one of the best things he’s seen on the small screen in 2022. Created by Carlton Cuse and John Ridley and based on Sheri Fink’s book of the same name, Five days at the memorial is set during the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2005. The majority of the series follows the events that unfolded at Memorial Medical Center as thousands of people were trapped without power, forcing doctors and administrators to make controversial and deadly decisions. . The impressive cast of the original Apple TV+ series includes Vera Farmiga, Julie Ann Emery, Cherry Jones, Robert Pine, Cornelius Smith Jr., Adepero Aduye, W. Earl Brown and Michael Gaston.

To date, neither Julie Ann Emery nor W.
