Apple TV+ has revealed the premiere date and first images of its upcoming limited series The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray, starring Samuel L. Jackson in the lead role.
Set to debut on Friday, March 11, the six-part drama is based on Walter Mosley’s novel. Originally from Apple Studios, The last days of Ptolemy Gray stars Jackson as Ptolemy Grey, a sick man forgotten by his family, friends, and even himself. Suddenly left without his trusted caretaker and on the verge of sinking even deeper into solitary dementia, Ptolemy is left in the care of teenage orphan Robyn, played by Dominique Fishback. When they discover a treatment that can restore Ptolemy’s dementia-altered memories, it begins a journey to shocking truths about the past, present, and future.
Written and produced by Mosley, the series also features Cynthia Kaye McWilliams, Damon Gupton, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Walton Goggins and Omar Miller.
The series will debut with two episodes, with new episodes weekly, every Friday.
Along with Mosley and Jackson, The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray is produced by Mosley’s producing partner Diane Houslin, Ramin Bahrani, Eli Selden and David Levine for Anonymous Content, and LaTanya Richardson.
