Regina King to Direct David E. Kelley’s A Man in Full Netflix Miniseries


According to Variety, Netflix has officially given a limited-series order to the upcoming TV adaptation of A complete man, based on the drama novel of the same name by Tom Wolfe in 1998. The project comes from Emmy-winning creator David E. Kelley and Oscar winner Regina King, who is committed to directing the first three episodes.

“All I can say is when David E. Kelley calls you just say yes,” King said in a statement. “I know this partnership will produce something special.”

Kelley added: “A passion project for me, without a doubt. The opportunity to tackle Tom Wolfe’s brilliant and premonitory novel, to have Regina at the helm – I couldn’t be more excited.

The A complete man The series will consist of six one-hour episodes that will be written and produced by Kelley. He is best known for being the creator of a number of acclaimed dramas, including Los Angeles Law, Palisades, Chicago hope, The practice, Ally McBeal, Big little lies, and The defeat.

The miniseries will center on Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker as he faces sudden bankruptcy. Because of this, political and business interests collide, leading Charlie to try to defend his empire from those who try to capitalize on his downfall.

The series will be produced by King and Reina King through their Royal Ties Productions with Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions.

This marks King’s latest collaboration with the streamer, after starring in the recently released Western action flick. The more they fall. Meanwhile, Kelley is also currently working with Netflix on a brand new legal drama titled Lincoln’s lawyer.
