The Oscar winner has always shown that he has a broad taste for entertainment. However, while most know Tarantino loves variety, his favorite TV show might still come as a shock to some fans.
Quentin Tarantino once admitted he liked “How I Met Your Mother”
For Quentin Tarantino, his favorite show was once the nine-season sitcom How I Met Your Mother. During its airing, the show was nominated and even won notable accolades. It also drew impressive audiences, with its season finale drawing over 12.3 million viewers according to Weekly entertainment. Perhaps another of his accomplishments is making Quentin Tarantino a passionate fan.
“Now my favorite show is how I Met Your Mother“Tarantino once said MTV News. “I’ve been watching this since the very first episode, so this is the only show I still watch.”
Tarantino also liked that of Aaron Sorkin The press room. So much so that he said Vulture he watched the show more than once.
âIt was the only show I literally watched three times,â Tarantino said. âI would watch it at seven o’clock on Sunday when the new one arrived. Then after it was over, I would watch it again. “
There’s a critically-acclaimed series Quentin Tarantino can’t stand
For shows that Tarantino is a fan of, there are also shows that he just isn’t a fan of. One of those shows is the hit HBO series Real detective. Written by Nicolas Pizzolatto, the show has already received strong critical acclaim. It was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. It also earned Matthew McConaughey and Mahershala Ali Emmy nominations for Outstanding Leading Actor for Seasons 1 and 3 respectively.
But Tarantino wasn’t impressed with the show’s accolades or the show itself.
âI tried to watch the first episode of the first season and I didn’t get into it at all. I thought it was really boring. And season two looks awful, âTarantino told Vulture at the time. âJust the trailer – all these good looking actors trying not to look good and walking around like the weight of the world is on their shoulders. It’s so bad, and they’re so tortured, trying to look miserable with their mustaches and filthy clothes.
Quentin Tarantino plans to write a TV series
Quentin Tarantino has previously sought to expand his reach in the entertainment industry by creating his own series. Recently, Tarantino confided in Deadline that he was planning to write a spinoff television series Once upon a time in Hollywood. Westerner, Premiums Act, would cover the character of Jake Cahill from Leonardo DiCaprio.
“Watching the different old westerns and everything, I did it to get into the head of Premiums Act. I ended up starting to really like the idea of ââJake Cahill, as a character, âTarantino said. “I really started to like those 50s half-hour western scripts. The idea that you could write something like 24 Minutes, where there were so many stories crammed into those half-hour shows. -time, with a real beginning, a middle and an end.
