Patch miniseries brings Logan back to Madripoor

Larry Hama’s Wolverine: Patch miniseries brings Logan back to Madripoor

After revisiting his classic Wolverine run in september X-Men Legends # 7, Larry Hama will continue to ride the wave of nostalgia until 2022 with another title that brings the clawed mutant back to familiar playgrounds. In a few months, Hama will team up with artist Andrea di Vito on Wolverine: Patch, a new limited series that takes place before Hama took on the writing duties of Logan’s solo book in the 1990s.

As the title suggests, the series finds Logan still operating under his alias “Patch” on Madripoor Island. Chris Claremont and John Buscema previously introduced this character when they relaunched Marvel’s Wolverine book in 1988. However, Hama’s upcoming story promises to add shocking new revelations to the mix. When a “simple reconnaissance mission” for Patch and his friend Archie Corrigan heads south, the couple find themselves caught up in a paramilitary struggle that brings out some fan-favorite characters from the woods. Readers can also expect an appearance from Nick Fury, giving us “two patches for the price of one!”

Hama shared new details about the book while speaking with Luckily for him, it doesn’t seem like writing the show posed a great challenge.

“It was like coming home,” Hama said. “I have been totally immersed in Wolverine’s universe for 8 years so I feel very comfortable when I go back there.”

Wolverine: Patch Issue 1 hits comic book stores in March 2022. You can see Geoff Shaw’s cover for the issue and two pages of artwork in the gallery below.
