Moses Ingram joins Natalie Portman in Apple’s Lady In The Lake limited series – The UBJ


Obi Wan Kenobi stars Moses Ingram landed his next project. The Emmy nominee will star in the Apple TV+ limited series Lady in the Lake alongside Natalie Portmananother former Star Wars actress. Lupita Nyong’owho was originally slated for the role but pulled out in May, is replaced by Ingram.

The series currently in development is based on the #1 New York Times bestseller by Laura Lipman. It is set in 1960s Baltimore, where an unsolved murder forces the housewife and mother Maddie SchwartzPortman to reinvent herself as an investigative journalist and pits her against Ingram’s Sherwood, a hardworking woman juggling motherhood, multiple jobs, and a passionate commitment to advancing Baltimore’s progressive black agenda.

Ingram, in addition to playing an important role in the Disney+ series, also starred in the Netflix drama The Queen’s Gambit. She played Jolene, the main character and Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor-Joy) childhood friend, in the television series.

Director Alma Har’elbest known for her 2019 drama Honey Boy, will direct and co-write lady at the lake. For the series, she will work with Dr Ryan, who wrote The Man in the High Castle. Crazyrose and Bad Wolf America will produce the Effort content movie lady at the lake. Thanks to his new production company Zusa and Portman, Har’el will serve as executive producer alongside Christopher Leggett.

With his producing partner Sophie Mas, Crazyrose founders Nathan Ross and the late Jean-Marc Vallée, Julie Gardner for Bad Wolf, Amy J. Kaufman and Layne Eskridge for POV Entertainment, Yakin and Lippman, Portman also serves as an executive producer. The television project is both Portman’s and Har’el’s television debut.
