Meet Brianha (Bri) Auty – from Sunday night she will be front and center on thousands of TV screens across Australia on the series Beauty and the Geek.
To say she’s excited is an understatement: “OH MY GOODNESS!” I’m over the moon!” exclaimed Bri.
“It’s the most amazing experience I’ve ever been on and I can’t wait for Australia to see it all unfold…expect a roller coaster season filled with happiness, tears and lots of sadness. ‘love.”
Bri has worked in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) for eight years and is currently an Administrative Officer for Clinical Support Therapy Reception and said “to see patients achieve the best possible outcomes for their rehabilitation is truly rewarding.”
“I’ve seen some pretty upsetting situations when they first arrived in rehab, but seeing them come full circle at the end of their treatment gives me the chance to see how far they’ve come.”
The premise of the television series “Beauty and the Geek” revolves around a group of “beauties” paired with “geeks” to compete in challenges in order to survive each episode’s eliminations.
The idea behind the show is that each contestant will learn something along the way from their teammate who is in many ways their polar opposite.
Brianha wanted to appear on the show because she feels like she understands the meaning of the word “beauty.”
“It doesn’t just mean what you look like on the outside, it’s also what matters on the inside,” she said.
“I have a huge heart of gold and I think geeks would appreciate my sweet humility and kindness.
“I’m always the girl in the room who’s there for someone no matter what.”
As for the possibility of falling in love with a “geek”, Brianha said “everything is possible, nothing is forbidden and I am always open-minded”.
I’m a pretty positive person so there’s definitely the possibility of falling in love with a geek.
Brianha’s WSLHD colleagues, along with the rest of the country, will no doubt be glued to their television screens on Sunday.
The ‘beauty’ is feeling the love of her co-workers saying, “I have the most amazing support team behind me and I couldn’t be luckier if I tried.
“Every day, my team counts the days until the show airs; they also jump with excitement when they see my face on promos.
“It’s a surreal moment for me, I don’t think it has hit me yet, however, I’m very grateful and thankful to the universe for giving me this opportunity.”
TEAM BRI, let’s go!
