Kristen Stewart joins HBO’s Irma Vep limited series

After playing the role of Princess Diana in Spencer, Kristen Stewart has lined up her next project. According to The New Yorker, Stewart is expected to star alongside Alicia Vikander (Grave robber) in Olivier Assayas’ television adaptation of his 1996 film Irma Vep for HBO.

Loosely based on the 1996 Assayas feature film, Irma Vep will follow Mira (Vikander), “an American movie star disillusioned by his career and a recent breakup, who comes to France to play Irma Vep in a remake of the French silent film classic, The vampires. Set against the backdrop of a sinister crime thriller, Mira struggles as the distinctions between herself and the character she plays begin to blur and merge. Irma Vep reveals to us the uncertain ground which lies at the border between fiction and reality, artifice and authenticity, art and life.

Stewart’s role is not yet known, although it is said that his role in the miniseries will be small. Irma Vep will mark Stewart’s third collaboration with Assayas after starring in Clouds Sils Maria and Personal buyer.

Irma Vep Currently filming in Paris, with a cast that includes Adria Arjona, Carrie Brownstein, Jerrod Carmichael, Fala Chen, Devon Ross, Byron Bowers and Tom Sturridge.
