Kristen Bell directs Netflix’s new black comedy miniseries

Netflix has released the first teaser for the upcoming limited black comedy series titled The woman in the house in front of the girl at the window, with Kristen Bell. The series will be available to stream on January 28, 2022.

The video, which you can watch below, shows a heartbroken woman drowning her grief with alcohol and prescription drugs. As a result, she experiences multiple psychotic pauses where she hallucinates certain moments that could only be repressed memories. This includes witnessing a murder.

The woman in the house in front of the girl at the window is described as a black comedy psychological thriller created by Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson and Larry Dorf, who serve as showrunners.

“For Anna (Kristen Bell), heartbroken, every day is the same,” the synopsis read. “She’s sitting with her wine, looking out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbor (Tom Riley) and his adorable daughter (Samsara Yett) move in across the street, Anna begins to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That was until she witnessed a horrific murder… or did she? “

The limited series will be directed by Kristen Bell in its first scripted series after more than a year since the series finale of the acclaimed comedy A good place in 2020. She is joined by Tom Riley and Samsara Yett, Michael Ealy, Mary Holland, Shelley Hennig, Cameron Britton, Christina Anthony and Benjamin Levy Aguilar.
