Josh Duhamel joins Renée Zellweger in NBC miniseries


Depending on the deadline, Transformers Alum Josh Duhamel has officially signed on to star alongside Oscar-winning actress Renée Zellweger on Blumhouse Television and NBC’s upcoming true crime limited series The thing about Pam, centered on the suspicious murder of Betsy Faria. Duhamel will play the role of Joel Schwartz, defense attorney for Betsy’s husband Russ Faria.

This is the latest collaboration between the 48-year-old actor and NBC, following the drama series. Las Vegas, which aired for five seasons, and NBCU’s limited series Unsolved: The Tupac Murders and the Notorious BIG Duhamel was recently seen in Netflix’s superhero drama Jupiter’s legacy, which was canceled a month after its debut.

Based on Date line 2019 episode and podcast, The thing about Pam will delve into the murder of Betsy Faria in 2011, a case in which her husband was initially convicted of the crime, despite his plea of ​​innocence. However, her conviction was later overturned, with the emergence of another suspect in the form of Pam Hupp (Zellweger), who was convicted in 2019 and allegedly orchestrated her death to pin her on Betsy’s husband.

The six-part series is written and produced by Jessika Borsiczky (UnReal, the house of lies), which will also serve as a showrunner. Executive producers are Zellweger, Carmella Casinelli, Liz Cole, Jason Blum, Noah Oppenheim, Chris McCumber and Jeremy Gold.
