‘Got Your Back Nigeria’, a political support group, said Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State even had the backing of the opposition party to run for president in 2023.

Professor Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr, the national coordinator of the group, said so in a press release to journalists.

Professor Chris was reacting to the ‘Politics Today’ debate on private national television last week.

Part of the statement reads as follows:

‘Two dynamic and eloquent guests were on the card, one from the opposition PDP party, Segun Sowunmi, former spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election, and the other from the leader of ruling party Femi Fani-Kayode, the two deep talkers had their turns as the anchor toasted them on 2023 politics and the chances of frontline presidential aspirants seeking to emerge candidates from both major parties for the elections presidential elections in 2023.

“The names listed on the PDP side were Atiku Abubakar, Aminu Tambuwal, Bukola Saraki, Bala Mohammed, Peter Obi, Sam Ohuabunwa, Goodluck Jonathan and Pius Anyim. And on the APC side, there were names like Bola Tinubu, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Governor Yahaya Bello, Rochas Okorocha, Rotimi Amaechi, Godswill Akpabio, Kayode Fayemi and Babatunde Fashola. And Kingsley Moghalu, Akinwunmi Adesina, Jack Rich Tein, Oby Ezekwesili and Tunde Bakare were those mentioned apart from the two main parties.

“The confidence of this effort is the fact that of the twenty names mentioned, one name resonated and echoed beyond partisan lines. The two guests agreed that Governor Yahaya Bello GYB is perhaps the most outstanding, the most prepared and the most likely to unite and promise Nigeria.

“PDP guest Segun Sowunmi was clear in admitting that besides his boss Atiku Abubakar, Governor Yahaya Bello GYB is perhaps the most willing to take Nigeria to the next level. He admitted that GYB is broad-minded (can train Nigerians of different leanings), sagacious (creative and has the ability to generate the ideas needed to make Nigeria work), young (has the age and fitness) , is competent and can unite Nigeriens. He was practically craving and called on GYB to move to PDP to realize his ambition. It was an endorsement beyond partisanship and a testament to the skill and ability of the phenomenon called GYB.

‘The guest of APC Chief Femi Fani-Kayode unequivocally canvassed a GYB ticket for the 2023 Presidency. He was frank and lucid, he called on the APC to look in the direction of Governor Yahaya Bello, Kayode Fayemi or Babatunde Fashola but was obviously addicted to the character of GYB. He argued that Segun Sowunmi’s invitation to GYB to join the PDP that APC would not give him the ticket is misplaced because APC is ready to deploy GYB’s sagacity, skill and ability to render Nigeria better and bigger in 2023. .

“The bottom line here, compatriots, is that in the future, the phenomenon called GYB will continue to deliver and deliver on the promises it made to Kogi State, and bring the magic to a wider space of ‘by 2023. GYB is a pan Nigerian political and social vehicle, GYB is young, fit, active and lively, GYB has the ideas and is in line with the 21st century, GYB is passionate about the Nigeria of our dreams, GYB is an apostle of human capital development, and GYB in many ways has proven that the call to moor a new Nigeria is its unalterable commitment and destiny.

“To those who think otherwise, we implore you to research, we ask that you throw away the beer hall stories and do some personal research on the GYB phenomenon. In GYB lies hope for a new deal for the masses of our nation. In GYB is the confidence of the fervor of Youth O’clock and the call for effective, efficient and effective youth participation in leadership. And in GYB is the manifestation of competence and the capacity in the face of deception and perfidy.

“Finally, in the program in reference, the Guests and the Presenter of this didactic program on politics (Politics Today), were unanimous on the chances of the name which stole the show. It was Governor Yahaya Bello (GYB) throughout the entire show. It was Atiku Abubakar a few times, it was Kayode Fayemi and Babatunde Fashola once or twice, and Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s name barely made it into the hour-long program because apparently his age, fitness and maybe- to be ideas necessary to weave a united and cosmopolitan Nigeria is suspect. Baba is obviously old and tired and should be called upon by all men and women of good will to rest.

“Compatriots, we cannot mortgage the future of our country on the altar of gradualism. We cannot keep going around in circles, we must tell those who have been in charge of our national vehicle and our politics for more than 20, 30, 40 years that the time has come to try something new and different. We must birth and birth a new republic beyond ethnicity and religion. We must make justice, fairness and equity our national armour. And unequivocally GYB is the way to go.
