Emily Deschanel to star in “Devil in Ohio” limited series on Netflix


Emily Deschanel has been cast to star in Netflix’s limited-series “Devil in Ohio” adaptation, the streaming service revealed on Wednesday.

The eight-episode, 45-minute thriller is based on a book of the same name by Daria Polatin, inspired by a true story.

Here is the official description for “Devil in Ohio”, which will be written, produced and presented by author Polatin: When hospital psychiatrist Dr. Suzanne Mathis shelters a mysterious cult escapee, her world is turned upside down. as the arrival of the strange girl threatens to tear her own family apart.

Deschanel plays Suzanne, with Sam Jaeger in Peter, Gerardo Celasco in Detective Lopez, Madeleine Arthur in Mae, Xaria Dotson in Jules, Alisha Newton in Helen and Naomi Tan in Dani.

“Devil in Ohio” is currently in production in Vancouver, Canada.

Along with Polatin (“Jack Ryan”, “Hunters”), executive producers include Rachel Miller (“Under the Electric Sky”) with Haven Entertainment and Andrew Wilder. Ian Hay is a producer. Directors include John Fawcett, Brad Anderson, Leslie Hope, and Steve Adelson.

Deschanel recently appeared in TNT’s “Animal Kingdom,” a part that marked her first TV role since “Bones,” starring herself and David Boreanaz, wrapped up her 12-season series on Fox in March 2017.
