Claire Danes Joins FX Limited Series “Fleishman Is In Trouble” – Deadline


EXCLUSIVE: Emmy-winning Claire Danes to star alongside Jesse Eisenberg and Lizzy Caplan in FX’s Fleishman is in troublea limited series adaptation of Taffy Brodesser-Akner’s best-selling debut novel of the same name, which will premiere on Hulu.

Created by Brodesser-Akner, the story centers on recently separated 40-something Toby Fleishman (Eisenberg) who dives into the new world of app-based dating with the kind of success he’s never had in his youth, before getting married. at the end of medical school. But just as his first summer of sexual freedom begins, his ex-wife, Rachel (Danish), disappears, leaving him with the kids and no indication of where she is or if she plans to return. As he balances parenthood, the return of old friends, a long-awaited hospital promotion, and all the eligible women Manhattan has to offer, he realizes he can never figure out what happened. to Rachel. until he can take a more honest look at what happened to their marriage in the first place.

Rachel de Danes is a highly successful and ambitious talent agent whose put together exterior hides past trauma. While she initially enjoys her freedom after leaving Toby, Rachel eventually struggles with her new identity. Caplan plays female lead Libby, the show’s narrator and Toby’s friend.

Brodesser-Akner is serving as the limited series writer and executive producer with Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Susannah Grant as well as Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris who will also direct the series’ first block. The Danes are the headliners of the next Apple TV+ limited series The Essex Serpent.
