Described as Bodyguard meets John Le Carré, Treason will be written and produced by Bridge of Spies’ Matt Charman, who will also be the showrunner. Fox Allan and Valery Ryan are slated to become executive producers, with Louise Hooper leading the project. It is a production of Binocular Productions.

“The miniseries centers on Adam Lawrence, trained and cared for by MI6, whose career seems set,” the synopsis read. “But when the past catches up with him in the form of Kara, a Russian spy with whom he shares a complicated past, he is forced to question everything and everyone in his life. A triangular relationship forms between Kara, Adam and his wife, Maddy; three people who try to uncover their secrets, navigate political and diplomatic relations, all while clinging to their personal lives and those they love most.
