Candy: Hulu Teases Five-Night Event Series Starring Jessica Biel (Watch) – TV Shows Canceled + Renewed


Candy is coming to Hulu on May 9, and the streaming service released a trailer teasing the series of events starring Jessica Biel. Also starring Melanie Lynskey, Timothy Simons, Pablo Schreiber and Raúl Esparza, the series tells the story of a 1980s housewife who emerges from her dull life in a deadly way.

Hulu revealed more about the upcoming series in a press release.

“Candy Montgomery is a 1980s housewife and mother who did everything right — a good husband, two kids, a beautiful home, even the careful planning and execution of transgressions — but when the pressure of conformity rides inside her, her actions just scream a little while. freedom. Three-time Emmy nominee Robin Veith (Mad Men, the act) wrote the pilot script and will serve as executive producer. Nick Antosca (The Act, new cherry flavor) will serve as an executive producer under his Eat the Cat banner with Alex Hedlund. Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple (The sinner, cruel summer) will serve as executive producers for Iron Ocean. Michael Uppendahl (Fargo, American Crime History: Impeachment) directed the pilot and will serve as executive producer. Jim Atkinson and John Bloom will serve as consulting producers. The series hails from UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, and 20th Television, one of Disney’s television studios.
