Belhaven Brewery and Archerfield launch series of food and beer events

Following their successful collaboration with Fringe By The Sea, Dunbar’s historic Belhaven Brewery has unveiled a new series of events with its neighbors in Archerfield: the Belhaven x Archerfield Winter Sessions.

Taking place on Thursday 24th November and Thursday 1st December, the Bellhaven and Archerfield events will once again see the Belhaven Brewery team team up with Dave Jamieson, Executive Chef of East Lothian’s prestigious Archerfield to provide an evening of beer and food paired, as part of Scotland’s oldest continuously operating brewery.

Patrons will be welcomed to Belhaven where they will first enjoy a wintry stroll through 300 years of brewing history, while beers and hot roasted chestnuts are served in the courtyard.

Then it’s on to the brewery’s Monks Retreat bar for an exclusive tasting experience: four Belhaven beers, each featuring a different style and flavor, accompanied by four plates of delicious dishes from Archerfield’s new winter menu.

Diners can expect delicious seasonal flavors and local ingredients, all enhanced by innovative beer pairings – with plenty of time to talk to the team about all things beer along the way.

On Thursday 24th November there will be a Scottish theme as we look forward to celebrating Saint Andrews Day.

On Thursday, December 1, as the countdown to Christmas begins, the pairing menu will be filled with festive flavors.

Fiona Mathieson, Belhaven Brand Manager, said of the events: “We had such a great time working with Dave on our sold out food pairing masterclasses earlier this summer that we didn’t could resist the urge to start all over again.

“The winter sessions will make the most of the dark nights, with twinkling lights, festive touches, delicious food, great company and – of course – a taste of Belhaven’s award-winning range of Scottish ales.

“It will be a true celebration of the best flavors in East Lothian and the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends and try something different. We look forward to welcoming our guests to the brewery.”

Dave Jamieson added: “If you think beer is only for barbecuing, get ready to think again.

“As Executive Chef at Archerfield House, working with local, seasonal flavors is my greatest joy.

“I’m excited to be able to pair aspects of our new menu with Belhaven beers to celebrate the wonderful local produce around us and the season ahead. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
