Andrew Rannells to Play Murray Bartlett’s Love Interest in Hulu’s Chippendales Miniseries


Hulu did a little matchmaking ahead of Valentine’s Day, typing Andrew Rannel (Black Monday) to play Murray Bartlett’s beau in his upcoming Chippendales miniseries Immigrantlearned TVLine.

Featuring Silicon Valleyby Kumail Nanjiani, Immigrant tells the true story of Somen “Steve” Banerjee, the Indian-American entrepreneur who started Chippendales. Over its eight episodes, the limited series will detail “the crazy, dark, comedic crime story behind the single male revue that has become a cultural phenomenon,” according to its official hookup line.

Rannells is about to breed again as a wealthy kid investor in Chippendales New York, who is also the love interest of the charming and talkative Bartlett. producer/choreographer Nick De Noia.

In addition to Black Monday – what was recently canceled at Showtime after three seasons – Rannells TV credits include Girls5eva and Girlsas well as extensive voice work on series like Big mouth and Invincible.

ImmigrantThe cast of also includes Annaleigh Ashford (B Positive), who will play Nanjiani’s character’s wife. The series will be written by Pam and Tommy creator Robert Siegel, which serves as an EP alongside Nanjiani, Dylan Sellers, Emily V. Gordon, Rajiv Joseph and Mehar Sethi.
