A Disney Plus TV show is in the works


National Treasure fans, get excited! Not only is National Treasure 3 coming, but Disney Plus is developing a TV series!

Jerry Bruckheimer is not done with the National treasure franchise, not by far. According to a recent interview with Collider, not only fans of the treasure hunt movies can expect National treasure 3, but a TV series is also in the works at Disney Plus.

The article reveals that the theatrical film will follow the original cast while the Disney Plus series will follow a much younger cast. This news is not too surprising. The majority of Disney Plus shows are aimed at a younger audience, and that’s very much in line with the company’s plan to start from scratch with promising cast.

Also, Nicolas Cage is not very likely to be doing another TV show at this time after the recent announcement that he would be playing Joe Exotic in a screenplay. King tiger limited series, a show that will mark his very first television project. That said, it would be fun if he made at least one cameo appearance.

As to when we might expect to see the National treasure premiere of the series on the streaming service, it could be sooner than expected.

The interview revealed that the series is “much more advanced” in the development process than the film, which is reportedly still at the start of its writing.

The National treasure The franchise relies on heists and ploys as the title character, Benjamin Franklin Gates, scours America in search of lost and forgotten treasures.

It is not yet clear what treasures the series might focus on, although the interview says it will be the “same concept” as the films. Does that mean it’s going to be a reboot of the first movie? Or will they go in a different direction but keep the same overall plot? Will a group of teenagers try to steal the Declaration of Independence?
